Rep. Branch celebrates "National Night Out" with the Vickery Place Neighborhood Association. NNO is designed to generate support for local anti-crime programs, strengthen cohesiveness and improve police-community partnerships. This session, Rep. Branch passed tougher penalties for car break-ins in response to issues in Vickery Place and surrounding areas. As a result, incidents of Burglary of a Motor Vehicle (BMV)s are dropping in Dallas County.

Rep. Dan Branch visited the Filmworkers Club to visit with motion picture industry professionals in the heart of Dallas.  With many different production houses in District 108, producers throughout the industry are interested in calling Texas home in the near future.

Representative Dan Branch gave the opening remarks at the 2009 Region 10 Teacher of the Year Luncheon and Awards Gala. Teachers and administrators from nine counties and over 80 school districts across north Texas, including Highland Park ISD and Dallas ISD, were on hand to honor the award recipients at the Patty Granville Arts Center in Garland, Texas.

Representative Dan Branch hosted a town hall meeting for residents of the Village Apartments in the Northeast corner of District 108. Branch gave a legislative update, and then welcomed several Dallas Police officers and Village Security officials to speak on safety issues affecting the community, which consists of a dozen apartment complexes and houses many Dallas young professionals.

Rep. Branch served as emcee of the opening ceremonies and officiated the coin toss at the start of the 1st annual Blondes vs. Brunettes Dallas Powder Puff football game.  Young women from the Uptown Dallas area met at Griggs Park in Uptown for the football game after raising over $60,000 to benefit the Alzheimer's Association of Dallas, more than tripling their initial goal of $20,000.  In honor of the outstanding philanthropic efforts, Rep. Branch presented the event organizer, Erin Finegold, with a flag flown over the Texas Capitol in Austin.
