Greater Dallas Chamber Luncheon
Dan Branch attended the Greater Dallas Chamber 7th Annual State of Technology Luncheon. Rep. Branch chatted with the Hon. Richard Fisher, President and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. Mr. Fisher was the luncheon's keynote speaker, noting the technological impact of the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex.
Branch Accepts Legislator of the Year Award from Texas Medical Association Medical Students
Rep. Branch is honored by the TMA Medical Students Division for his efforts to increase funding for Graduate Medical Education (GME) in Texas. Branch talked to Texas medical students about the growing doctor shortage in Texas and steps the Legislature is taking to allow more of them to stay in-state for residency training.
Recorded Votes Press Conference
Rep. Branch was joined by representatives from the League of Women Voters, Freedom of Information Foundation, Texas Press Association and Texas Association of Broadcasters to support Prop. 11 which will enshrine record votes into the Texas Constitution. If passed by the voters, Prop. 11 would require a "yes" or "no" vote to be recorded by each member of the legislature on final passage of all non-ceremonial legislation. The votes would be posted in the journal and on the Internet for at least two years.

Branch meets with university presidents from across Texas to discuss practical solutions to funding the higher education needs in our state.
Rep. Branch meets with Chancellors of the University of Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Texas State University, University of North Texas, and University of Houston Systems to discuss challenges facing them as they work to prepare an educated workforce for a 21st century economy.
