Representative Dan Branch announced this afternoon that he will seek reelection to the Texas House of Representatives, hoping to win his fifth term as District 108?s rep in Austin.
"This is a critical time for the Texas economy. The decisions we make in Austin today, will affect Texans for decades to come," Branch said in a statement. "I'm running for reelection because I want to provide thoughtful, conservative leadership for North Texas, the major economic engine of a state leading the way in job creation."

The U.S. Supreme Court late Monday decided to hear more on the case that could change Texas Senate and House district maps after being asked to do so by Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott.

Branch files for reelection
Rep. Dan Branch (R-Dallas) joined other Dallas County Republican House members at Dallas County Republican Party headquarters to file for re-election. Branch visited with DCRP Chairman Wade Emmert and his colleagues and also spoke to members of the media about his re-election campaign.

"It was a historic event. I thought the exact spot had been documented a long time ago, just like the swearing-in itself had been documented," Massey said.
