Dan is a founding board member of the Texas Education Reform Caucus.

As a father of five who is committed to quality public education, Dan served as President of Hyer School's Dad's Club, as treasurer of the HPISD Central Dad's Club, and on several school district advisory committees.

Dan and his wife, Stacey, have five children: Daniel, Spencer, Catherine, Charles and Sarah; the Branch family attends Preston Road Church of Christ where Dan helps oversee the adult education program.
