2008 Texas Republican Party Convention
June 2008 - Representative Dan Branch traveled to Houston for the 2008 Republican Party of Texas Convention. Branch had the opportunity to open the convention by leading the Texas Republican County Chairman's Association breakfast in the U.S. and Texas pledges, and later visited with delegates from Senate Districts 16 and 23. Branch helped close out the weekend by leading the crowd in the U.S. pledge at the RPT Banquet. |

Select Committee Hearings Around the State
May 2008 - Rep. Branch chaired the public hearings of the Select Committee on Higher and Public Education Finance that were held in Dallas, McAllen, San Antonio and Houston. The committee heard testimony from institutions and individuals highlighting the varying educational needs in each region of the state. |

The legislation was introduced after the 80th session, and reduces school property taxes by one third. |
